The Military Policy Bans Women - 931 Words

There have been many arguments regarding women on whether or not women should be allowed in combat roles. The military policy bans women from having combat roles. Although, Defensive secretary has ordered the military to allow women in combat roles. Many people believe that women don’t meet the standards of being in combat duties. They say that women are not strong enough and have a strong percent chance of dying. There have been studies that show that women in combat get the squadron a higher injury rate and are less efficient. One of the main problems is, everyone knows that when you mix both sexes together for a long period of time, bad things are bound to happen. Relationships start to form, couples interact sexually and emotionally and furthermore, it makes those around them feel uncomfortable. So, men having interest in women and women having interest in men, creates limitless potential for friction. It will cause distractions and force them to compete against one another and which is something you don’t want to force onto combat units. Also, women usually do not meet the physical standards of being in combat. They may slow down their unit and possibly get everyone killed. Another problem that arises is that female military members are leaving their own children behind to advance their careers by deploying. Glory is not more important than motherhood.
